Sure hope this is true. So many people have been waiting for this car to come back. Hope they keep the lay down / flip up seats and add some a/c vents to the back seat. Trying to find a used one in my area is the typical needle in a haystack problem. These cars were so awesome that no one ever wants to part with them making getting one a real quest. Have called all the car dealers in my area and they all tell me once they get them in they are usually already sold before they ever need to list it. Hopefully this news of a new release is true, my dogs will be as happy as I am if it is. Til then I’m staying on my quest to find one, just in case. Please Honda, let this be true!
230,000 miles and getting the best mileage ever…I’ll keep it until a new Element comes out.
We have a 2005 with 240,000. We are so excited to be getting a new one next year! Best car ever!
my old girl has 222k and i love it.
what maintence are you doing at this stage.
I have just done brakes, tires, oil changes….just had to do a new muffler…
I changed the battery 2-3 years ago, alignment cause i hit a huge pot hole. Spark plus i think 4 years ago and belts with battery.
god i just love my car
My air compressor went out at 145k .
I am delighted that new Elements will ride the roads again. I am not delighted by the exterior redesign. It looks just plain silly. And I have to wonder how stable it will be in turns; it looks top-heavy.
Honda is not saying anything about offering a hybrid option. I couldn’t find specs for the new Element so co-opted the specs for the 2011 Element. Based on those, the Accord hybrid engine and drivetrain would seem a very good fit for the new Element. I doubt the weight of the new Element will be significantly different from the 2011, and the aerodynamics don’t appear much different.
Right now I drive a 2010 Honda Insight. I’m pleased with it all the way round but I need something bigger. A new Hybrid Element looks like it would be perfect for me and my 100+ pound dog. After gas mileage around 45 mpg though, I can’t imagine buying a new vehicle that gets less than half that.
BTW, Santa Fe, New Mexico, where I live, may be the Element capital in the U.S. I see them all over town, driven by young, middle-aged and old alike–three in a short trip today. The Honda dealer here is probably already smiling as he thinks of replacing all those aging Elements. He’d no doubt smile bigger if he could offer a hybrid Element in a town with a significant percentage of hybrid and electric vehicles.
Please bring the Element back…please! I miss mine so much and regret ever letting it go.
Yes, I would like to see the return of the Element! An elderly gentlemen hit me and totaled mine a couple years back. By then production had stopped and there were no used Elements available in NW Florida. The dealers told me that they couldn’t keep them on the lot they sold so quickly. Much to the chagrin of my dogs and kid, after a 3 week search I purchased a Prius. Ok, a much smaller car, but with my 80 mile round trip commute the gas mileage made up for the car pymt. I echo the earlier comment of PG Evans, I can’t go back to 25 mpg after 55 mpg. If the new Element is a hybrid, then that is the complete package. I will be the first in line!!
Get on it Honda : )
Can’t wait for the element to come back miss mine
I’ve been holding out buying a new car until the new Element is released. I’m driving a 2003 and I love it especially perfect for my dogs. I hope they add air conditioning vents in the back specifically for my dogs.

I love my Element. It is a 2006. Was waiting to buy a car cause I couldn’t find anything even close to the Element. Hopefully they will be for sale in the US. Wish there was someone available that could notify us when and where we can buy the new one.
My 2004 ex element has a. Vteci with 160hp. I was hoping new model would be more powerful.
I hope this is real. Live on Vancouver Island B.C., have had mine ten years , only thing changed was battery, and new tires. Have 2 big dogs who love to muck it up. Most reliable vehicle I have ever owned. Love it. Great for an active lifestyle, hiking, surfing etc. Who needs indoor car carpets. Would buy again. Great vehicle.
