If you are looking for a reliable pickup truck, Tundra is one of a few options in the market. This model comes with great power, comfortable interior, and upscale design. The 2020 Toyota Tundra TRD Pro is even better. A range-topping high-performance trim level delivers perfect off-road experience.
The new model will arrive by the end of 2019 and it will introduce numerous upgrades. Of course, performance is in the focus but Tundra TRD Pro also delivers sporty stance and aggressive design. It also offers better comfort and more standard features. Under the bonnet, a powerful V8 engine is available once again.
2020 Toyota Tundra TRD Pro Design
New 2020 Toyota Tundra TRD Pro is a full-size high-performance pickup truck. Even the regular model looks massive and very aggressive. TRD Pro trim adds a little bit of aggressiveness and it delivers sportier stance. Aerodynamics are improved for 2020 and front end will host modified headlights. On the other hand, the grille will largely remain.
The same grille sports radar sensors which will make this pickup safer. Generally, the front part looks really mean. Halogen fog lights are relatively fresh so there won’t be any type of changes. New skid plates are in the offer, along with the tow hooks and new optional wheels. 18-inch aluminum wheels will be standard once again. Unfortunately, the rear end will introduce literally zero upgrades.
Cabin Features
Surely, the interior is not a priority for a full-size off-road pickup truck. However, Japanese automaker did make sure to deliver an upscale cabin with great comfort. On the other hand, every TRD Pro trim level is basically a luxury trim. We are not surprised by such an attractive interior at all.
The 2020 Toyota Tundra TRD Pro comes with leather upholstery and a long list of standard high-tech features. Everything from the inside looks updated and very upscale. However, the 2020 model won’t introduce something new. All of the systems, displays and other amenities are basically intact. There will be room for five persons and legroom is very ample. Whatsoever, Tundra TRD Pro offers the best-in-class headroom.
2020 Toyota Tundra TRD Pro Powertrain Specs
As for the powertrain options, the things will remain. That means the 2020 Toyota Tundra TRD Pro will continue with the same 5.7-liter V8. This engine is good for 380 horsepower and 400 lb-ft of torque. A 6-speed automatic gearbox and rear-wheel-drive setup are offered as standard. The four-wheel-drive system is optional once again.
Some of the fans are complaining about the aging unit and its poor fuel economy. Powerful V8 delivers only 15 mpg combined which is below the class-average figures. And while it delivers great power, this engine doesn’t offer direct fuel injection and cylinder deactivation systems. Toyota might consider a new powertrain for its Tundra TRD Pro variant.
Price and Release Date
The price of the all-new Toyota Tundra TRD Pro will remain. That means you can get this high-performance off-road beast for around $45,000. We expect a new pickup truck to hit the roads by the end of 2019. When released, the new pickup truck will compete with the models Ford F-150 and Nissan Titan XD.
