One of the most-selling SUV on the market Honda Pilot will be redesigned for the next year. The new 2021 Honda Pilot is an attractive three-row crossover that will provide astonishing design. The Japanese manufacturer will introduce the new Pilot sometime next year.
Furthermore, Honda strategy is simple, to refresh the new model and to rival the most luxury SUVs in this segment. As before, the Pilot will remain to be the family favorite SUV that offers room for eight persons. However, changes will happen, and the upcoming model will get better ride quality and more safety. Also, the more improved engines and even a hybrid system will be part of this redesign.
2021 Honda Pilot Changes
As before, the new 2021 Honda Pilot will keep its modern design. However, some changes will be evident and this SUV will look sportier than before. Almost the same design is present on the recently spied CR-V model. However, the new Pilot has its own unique design that is very muscles. The front fascia now hosts unique LED daytime running lights as standard and better three horizontal slats grille design with more chrome materials.
The same shape of the LED headlights and daytime running lights is seen on the CR-V crossover. The LX trim that is the standard will offer stylish 18-inch wheels that can be replaced with the bigger 20 inches on the Touring trim. Roof rails are optional on the lower trims. Furthermore, if one needs power-operated tailgate it can get it with the EX-L trim.
Interior Styling and Trims
The 2021 Honda Pilot model will introduce more upscale materials. The cabin of this SUV will be also a way better arranged than before. Most of the cues inside will be taken from the popular Honda CR-V model. So, redesign inside will include a cleaner dashboard and more premium materials. The Pilot model is offered with a few trims that include LX, EX, EX-L, Touring, Elite, and Black Edition model. The least expensive trim LX comes with the features like push-button start, Bluetooth phone/audio, USB port, and 5-inch color display. Moving to the EX, the customers will get a long list of features. This includes Apple CarPlay/Android Auto smartphone integration, 8-inch touch screen, tri-zone automatic climate control, power-adjustable driver’s seat, heated front seats, blind-spot monitoring with cross-traffic alert and so on.
The middle equipment and one of the recommended trim is EX-L. This trim will consist of leather upholstery, moonroof, power-adjustable front-passenger seat, an acoustic windshield, and a universal garage-door opener. 590-watt premium audio system, parking sensors, blue ambient interior lighting, heated 2nd-row seats, and Wi-Fi are available on the Touring trim.
However, if this is not enough for you, the Elite trim is the most expensive trim and offers all above plus panoramic roof, ventilated front seats, wireless charging, rain-sensing wipers, and a heated steering wheel. The Black Edition is the elite trim with some cosmetic changes.
Powertrain Options
While the Japanese company has been introducing numerous exterior and interior updates, under the hood will be the same engines as before. So, the 2021 Honda Pilot will deploy two engine options and one of them is hybrid. The first engine under the base model is a 3.5-liter V6. This engine delivers 280 horsepower and 270 lb-ft of torque, and it comes with the standard FWD system, while AWD is optional on the base model and standard on the hybrid. As before the 6-speed automatic gearbox is standard, while the smoother 9-speed automatic transmission is optional. Fuel economy is 18 mpg in the city and 26 mpg on the highway.
2021 Honda Pilot Hybrid
The hybrid engine will be also available with the new 2021 Honda Pilot. This model will deploy an electric motor that will work in combination with the 3.5-liter V6. AC Synchronous Permanent-Magnet Electric Motor will deliver additional 20 horsepower and 40 lb-ft of twist. The upcoming 2021 Honda Pilot Hybrid with the combination above will deliver 300 HP and 300 lb-ft of torque.
How Much Does the 2021 Honda Pilot Cost?
The all-new 2021 Honda Pilot will cost more than the current model. Whatsoever, the current model starts at $33,000, while the new 2021 SUV cost $2,000 more (35,000). However, depending on the trim and equipment, this model can cost over $50,000. The three-row SUV will hit dealerships later this year.
