The all-new 2020 Toyota Camry will continue to dominate the mid-size sedan segment. This model is very popular in the United States. In 2018, we saw a redesign and 2019 gave us more tech. Now, the 2020 Camry will get new TRD trim level.

This sporty trim will add new mechanics, larger wheels, new tires, and impressive aerodynamics. However, base trim level will mostly remain. We can expect a long list of standard amenities and similar minor updates. Toyota will release its new Camry in the coming months and the price will stay intact.

The upcoming 2020 Toyota Camry also features a hybrid powertrain. Camry Hybrid is known for its acceleration and great fuel efficiency. Interestingly, not all of the trim levels are using the same hybrid output. For the start, the base LE model is using a lighter lithium-ion battery pack. On the other hand, SE and XLE trim levels use a nickel-metal hydride battery.

However, all trim levels are powered by a 2.5-liter four-cylinder in pair with an electric motor. Total output is rated at 208 horsepower. On top of that, Camry Hybrid is using a CVT transmission. The Camry Hybrid LE delivers 52 mpg combined. The SE and other trims that are using different battery are rated at 46 mpg combined.

2020 Toyota Camry TRD

Toyota is adding new and sportier trim level. Its famous TRD variant is from now on available on the 2020 Toyota Camry as well. This model will use a 3.5-liter V6 that will deliver 300 horsepower. On top of that, Camry TRD comes with lighter 19-inch wheels, new tires, and better aerodynamics.

Furthermore, stiffer suspension, sport exhaust, and improved handling will surely help this sedan. Japanese manufacturer also added TRD’s two-piston brake calipers and blacked-out exterior. The timing is perfect as Camry’s sales dropped last year.

What About the Competition?

New 2020 Toyota Camry will have a lot of rivals in the coming years. For now, we will focus on the high-performance TRD version. The most natural competitor is a new Honda Accord Sport 2.0T. Camry TRD will offer more power and more sporty equipment. Camry will cost slightly below Accord model. Mazda 6 is another serious competitor.

This sedan generates 250 horsepower thanks to its 2.5-liter four-cylinder engine. However, Mazda is focusing on luxury rather than on performance. So if 250 hp figures satisfy you and you want luxurious interior, Mazda 6 is perhaps a better choice. Finally, Ford Fusion Sport is on the markets with its 325-horsepower V6. However, Ford is discounting this model next year.

Trim Levels, Price, Release Date

This mid-size sedan is available in numerous trim levels. Everything begins with the L trim that starts at $24,500. New 2020 Toyota Camry TRD will cost $31,000. However, this isn’t the most expensive trim level. Toyota’s XSE V6 is priced at $35,000.

The hybrid version has three trim levels that are slightly costlier than the models with gasoline engine. Toyota plans to release its new Camry sedan this fall.
