The new-generation 2021 Subaru Outback will debut next year and it will bring more standard features. Japanese automaker will redesign this model and it will add a new platform that will bring plenty of changes. So, we can expect a more attractive design and more techs inside.

Size-wise, the upcoming Outback measures same 108.1-inch wheelbase as before. However, the overall length is increased by 1.4 inches and also width by 0.6 inches. The interior of the 2021 Subaru Outback will be more modern. The new model will introduce numerous updates and changes inside. Also, more things will be available in the standard model. The most notable change in the cabin is at the center of the dashboard. The new 11.6-inch vertically oriented touchscreen replaces the previous 8-inch horizontal unit. Cargo space will remain the same with the 75.7 cubic feet.

Safety is also better and features like adaptive cruise control, lane-centering, automatic emergency braking, lane-departure warning, lane-keep assist, and a driver attention monitor are standard on all Outback models. The same engine as before will power the new 2021 Subaru Outback. Besides that, the manufacturer will also add one new engine. The base model still comes with a 2.5-liter four-cylinder engine that generates 182 HP and 176 lb-ft of torque. Fuel-economy estimates of this model are 26 mpg city and 33 mpg highway. This is improved by 1 mpg in both measures if we compare this model with the previous.

However, the 3,5 liter is discounted and is replaced with the 2.4-liter four-cylinder unit. This engine delivers 260 horsepower and 277 lb-ft of torque. The same unit is lying under the current Ascent model. fuel-economy of this engine estimates 23/30 mpg city/highway. CVT automatic and standard all-wheel-drive systems are available on both models with Subaru`s X-Mode. Hill descent control is standard. Towing capacity will be better than before 3,500 pounds.

The all-new 2021 Subaru Outback will get some updates and changes. The biggest updates are the all-new 2.4-liter four-cylinder unit and the new 11.6-inch touchscreen.

According to a reliable source, the upcoming Outback will cost slightly more than the current model. It will start at $30,000 for the base model. New Subaru’s crossover will be available in the second half of 2020. Models like Ford Edge, Kia Sorento, and Hyundai Santa Fe cost less than the new Outback.
