The next-gen 2021 Toyota Tacoma as the Tundra model will be built on the all-new platforms. According to Toyota, all future pickups from this carmaker will underpinnings a single platform called F1. Thanks to that, the 2021 Tacoma model will introduce numerous changes outside.
Even the interior will come with some improvements. The Japanese manufacturer will offer more standard features and a more stylish cabin. Under the hood, the same engine lineup remains. The new 2021 Tacoma will come with three engine options, and one of them is the Hybrid model. Both upcoming models Tundra and Tacoma will be built in the same plant in San Antonio.
2021 Toyota Tacoma Facelift
The 2021 Toyota Tacoma will get a modern look. The manufacturer will redesign this model, especially upfront. So, we will see some changes that will make this pickup more competitive.
The redesign upfront will include a new grille, LED fog lights, LED day-running headlamps and c-shaped sequential turn signals that will complete this attractive look. Also, at the back, the new model will introduce redesigned taillights that use LED technology. Toyota will also add new stylish 16-inch alloy wheels. For the best experience on the off-road driving with the TRD Off-Road model will be charged the multi-terrain monitor, Fox 2.5-inch internal bypass shocks and TRD-tuned front springs with a 1-inch lift.
Cabon Design

SR model that is the base one will come with a 7-inch touchscreen; however, choosing the SR5 model and above, customers will get a new 8-inch display. The TRD Sport and TRD Off-Road models will get more features that include 6-speaker JBL premium audio system, navigation, leather upholstery.
2021 Toyota Tacoma Powertrain
The changes under the hood of 2021 Toyota Tacoma will not happen. This model will continue to ride on a standard 2.7-liter engine that produces 160 horsepower. Also, the optional 3.5-liter V6 that generates 278 HP will be implanted. The last one that is also optional is a 2.8-liter diesel engine.
This powertrain is capable of delivering to this SUV 195 horses and 350 lb-ft of torque. All drivers above will be available with a 6-speed automatic transmission. 7.7 seconds is an acceleration time from 0 to 60 mph for this pickup. Towing will be useful as always, and we can expect the same numbers with the V6 powertrain that can tow up to 6.800 pounds.
Hybrid Engine
Besides the existing engine lineup, the hybrid model will also be available. The new Hybrid will combine a 3.5-liter V6 engine and an electric generator/motor. Three electric motors and a battery pack will power this pickup. Furthermore, this combination will deliver 310 horsepower. AWD system will be standard on this model.
Price and Arrival
The 2021 Toyota Tacoma will be slightly modified, and the new model will look more attractive. As before, the upcoming pickup truck will be offered with few trims, and each of them provides unique designs and features. Base SR trim starts at $26,000, while TRD trim levels such as Sport or Pro will cost thousand dollars more.
Toyota will launch this pickup in the second half of 2020. Ford Ranger, Honda Ridgeline, and GMC Canyon are the models that will try to compete with the 2021 Toyota Tacoma.
