The new redesigned 2021 Mazda CX-9 will arrive later next year. This seven-passenger crossover model will introduce some changes that will hit both exterior and interior. Also, the manufacturer will continue to offer a CX-9 model with three rows of seats. Unlike the current model, the new one will get more techs and better materials inside.

The popular Mazda Kodo soul of motion language is present, and it looks even better on the CX-9 model. However, changes under the hood will not happen this year, and the manufacturer will use the same engine as before.

The all-new 2021 Mazda CX-9 will continue to be an attractive SUV thanks to the Kodo soul of motion design. The same look is also present on the smaller CX-5 model and CX-7 models. However, CX-9 is a bigger SUV, and it will wear this design better than both models above. The elegant crossover will be redesigned, and the manufacturer will add a longer hood and slimmer LED headlights. Also, the front fascia will dominate, thanks to the slightly larger grille.

From the sides, the new model will come with 18-inch wheels that are standard while you can opt for the bigger 20-inch alloy rims. Small modifications will also happen on the back, and these changes will include more visible taillights and a stronger bumper. A power liftgate is an optional feature.

The cabin as before will be techy and clean. Mazda’s newest SUV will continue to offer the same spacious interior that can accommodate seven passengers in three rows. Comfort is guaranteed with this SUV thanks to the seats that are made to provide excellent support on a long ride. Also, cargo space is unique and this model with third rows seats folded flat opens 38.2 cubic feet.

The design at the front is cleaner now and it uses more soft materials. Also, the new model will host a 7.0-inch touchscreen, while the Touring trim level is available with a bigger 8.0-inch touchscreen. Furthermore, this trim will also provide more premium amenities. Grand Touring trim is the most equipped. Safety features like adaptive cruise control, blind-spot monitoring and lane departure warning are standard on the Grand Touring.

The 2021 Mazda CX-9 will continue to offer the same engine as the predecessor. Unfortunately, this crossover will be released with only one option. Under the hood is a 2.5-liter four-cylinder powertrain that is able to produce 277 horsepower and 310 lb-ft of torque.

This engine is connected with the same 6-speed automatic gearbox that is also available on all CX models. Front-wheel drive is standard, while the all-wheel-drive system is optional. At this moment there are no available numbers of consumptions. However, the current model with this engine provides with FWD 22 mpg in the city and 28 mpg on the highway. Towing capacity will be the same and this model can max tow 3,500 pounds.

Price and Release Date

The all-new 2021 Mazda CX-9 will wear the same popular Kodo design as before. The manufacturer will introduce some new techs inside and it will add more standard features.

According to some gossip, this model will start at $33,000. As you can see, the price will remain the same as before. So, when we can expect this model to arrive? The new 2021 Mazda CX-9 will start its journey in the second half of 2020. Models like Honda Pilot, Toyota Highlander, and Subaru Ascent will try once again to challenge CX-9.
