One of the company’s best-selling middle-size pickup trucks Nissan Frontier will be redesigned next year, and it will host numerous changes. According to the officials, the new 2021 Nissan Frontier will continue to sit on the same platform that underpins the Nissan Navara model.
However, this platform will be extended, and thanks to that, we can expect even more space inside. The next-gen Frontier will also come with the exterior redesign, interior refreshments, and more safety features. Also, the most significant changes will happen under the hood. The aging 4.0-liter V6 will be replaced with the new 3.0-liter V6 engine that, according to the news, will be able to generate over 300 horses.
2021 Frontier Exterior Redesign
The all-new 2021 Nissan Frontier boasts masculine exterior design. The upcoming model will get some changes up front that will make it more aggressive. However, thanks to the extended platform that is also used on the Nissan Navara model, the approaching Frontier will grow in size. Furthermore, besides that, it will sport a futuristic appearance.
The mid-size pickup will keep its current design, and it will add new LED headlights and a new grille. On top of that, the manufacturer will also use some sharper line on the body. Furthermore, the Frontier will continue to ride on the same 16-inch alloy wheels.
Interior Updates and Changes
Plenty of innovations will also happen inside. The new 2021 Nissan Frontier, thanks to the extended platform, will get a more roomy cabin. With two rows of seats, the Frontier will offer space for five passengers.
Also, the manufacturer will keep its interior layout, and it will add more modern amenities. Thanks to all that, we can even expect better comfort this time. Furthermore, Nissan will introduce a long list of standard equipment. Some of the standard features that will be available on the King Cab S model are air conditioning, cruise control, an AM/FM/CD stereo, and Bluetooth connectivity. However, Premium Package that is optional comes with power-adjustable leather seats, power moonroof, dual-zone A/C, parking sensors and much more.
New Engine Option
As we already wrote at the beginning, under the hood of the 2021 Nissan Frontier will happen, perhaps the most significant change so far. The new 3.0L V6 powertrain will power the upcoming 2021 Nissan Frontier. This unit will replace the current 4.0-liter V6. According to the gossip, the 5-speed gearbox will also be replaced with the 7-speed automatic transmission. Thanks to that, the new engine will generate over 300 HP, which is around 35 more horses than before.
Towing capacity will be also better. The current model can tow up to 6,500 pounds, and we can expect that the 2021 Nissan Frontier provides an even better rating thanks to a stronger engine. Improved fuel efficiency is another thing that will happen.
