When we are talking about the best mid-size sedans, we have to include a new 2021 Nissan Altima. It is one of the most modern and the best-looking cars on the market. Of course, Altima lacks behind the best models in terms of performance. However, its potent engine provides more than enough power. The 2021 Altima will get mid-cycle improvements.
After the redesigned 2019 model, Altima is set for a smooth sail in the next few years. On the other hand, the current model gained more safety features. New 2021 Altima will hit the roads once again with small visual updates. Of course, the interior will also host a couple of refreshments. As for the performance, Altima will largely remain.
Interior and Exterior Changes
The approaching 2021 Nissan Altima comes with subtle cosmetic updates. As we mentioned, the 2019 model was redesigned. Since then, Nissan will provide not such drastic exterior changes. Knowing that Altima will look like its predecessor. No significant changes will happen. The only upgrades are slightly enlarged grille and sharper lines on the sides.
Besides that, everything remains. That includes famous Nissan’s V-Motion grille and horizontal taillights. On the inside, Altima will gain updates for the infotainment system and new interface on the displays. Altima will remain a four-door sedan with generous cabin space and modern interior design.
Nissan Altima Trim Levels
The upcoming mid-size sedan is available in five trim levels: S, SR, SV, SL, and Platinum. The base S model is fundamental. It comes with a decent amount of features that could’ve been optional. That includes a power-adjustable driver’s seat, push-button start, 8-inch touchscreen, and a rear-view camera. However, all these features are standard.
The SR trim level is a sport-oriented model. With this model, Nissan offers sportier suspension, unique paddle shifters and distinctive styling. On top of that, it adds numerous driver-assistance features. Finally, SR offers heated front seats and the sunroof.
The SV models are offering features from the first two trim levels and add some other items. For instance, dual-zone climate control, noise-reducing windows and the ProPilot Assist system are available.
The 2021 Altima SL is an entry-level luxury model. Leather upholstery is standard, along with the navigation and premium sound system. Finally, the Platinum trim level adds larger 19-inch wheels and a 360-degree camera. Furthermore, additional chrome trims and interior ambient lighting are I the offer as well.
Two Drivetrain Options
Altima’s standard engine is a 2.5-liter gasoline four-cylinder that produces 188 horsepower. On top of that, its torque is rated at 180 lb-ft of torque. The engine is mated to a CVT transmission, and the front-wheel-drive setup is standard. Of course, you can load an optional AWD system.
A 2.0-liter turbo-four is second output, and it can produce 248 hp and 280 lb-ft of torque. This engine is standard on the SR and Platinum trim levels only. A CVT transmission is available, but this engine is only available in the front-wheel-drive variant.
2021 Nissan Altima Price and Release Date
The price of the brand-new 2021 Nissan Altima is unchanged. The arriving model will cost $25,500. Choosing the range-topping trim level will cost you $35,000. The mid-size sedan will hit the markets in the second half of 2020.
