New 2021 Nissan Qashqai is about to get additional upgrades. The third-gen Qashqai will go on sale in Europe next summer. This crossover will introduce subtle exterior and interior upgrades. However, the big news is a new plug-in hybrid version and possibly new e-Power hybrid series. Thanks to that, Nissan will drop the diesel engine for all of the markets.
The 2021 Qashqai will ride on a new CMF platform created by Renault-Nissan-Mitsubishi alliance. There are two outcomes for the new Qashqai. First one is to deliver the same system as the Mitsubishi Outlander PHEV. The second outcome is the all-new hybrid system.

2021 Qashqai Exterior Facelift
The forthcoming 2021 Nissan Qashqai will host a couple of exterior upgrades. For a start, this model will gain a new front-end look and it will look sharper as a result. Redesigned LED headlights and front grille are slightly larger this time.
The hood is refreshed as well, and it looks more sculpted. At the back, Led taillights are offered as standard. Qashqai offers 19-inch aluminium wheels that are looking very premium. Styling is similar to the Nissan Rogue’s styling and generally, this crossover looks very upright.
Interior Updates
The interior won’t go through such a drastic update. However, new 2021 Nissan Qashqai will get new technologies and that includes Safety Shield 360. This safety suite is available on all trim levels and it adds aids such as emergency braking, blind-spot monitors and pedestrian detection.
On top of that, Qashqai offers high beam assist, rear cross-traffic alert and much more. A standard 7-inch touchscreen will get an updated interface and much simpler menus. Nissan also offers standard navigation, new phone integrations and upgraded infotainment system.

PHEV Version
The arriving third-gen Qashqai should get two electrified version. One of the variants is a plug-in. The 2021 Nissan Qashqai will continue to offer conventional gasoline engine that is once again available on the base trim level. According to numerous reports, this crossover should arrive with the e-Power version without a plug-in system. On the other hand, a plug-in hybrid variant will most likely borrow the tech from Mitsubishi and its Outlander PHEV SUV. As a result, Nissan will drop all of its diesel engines.
There is no word about the all-electric model, yet. As for the gasoline engine, the same 2.0-liter four-cylinder is available. This drivetrain generates 141 horsepower and 147 lb-ft of torque. Moreover, CVT automatic transmission is standard, just like the front-wheel-drive configuration. Different markets will get different engines, this time, without diesel.

The price of the brand-new 2021 Nissan Qashqai should remain. This crossover will become available for $26,000. Moreover, the range-topping TI trim level is priced at $40,000.
We still don’t know how much will hybrid variants cost, but surely between $30,000 and $40,000. According to the latest reports, new third-gen Qashqai will be released in summer 2020.
