The all-new 2021 Mitsubishi Pajero Sport is getting further upgrades. After the 2020 model and some major changes, this mid-size SUV will get additional upgrades. The new model will look bolder and it will introduce more imposing front fascia. Moreover, the rear part will also gain a couple of visual tweaks. Even the interior will benefit from the latest upgrades.
However, nothing will change on the inside, except for the high-tech features and systems. As for the performances, new Pajero Sport will continue to offer a turbodiesel engine shared with Triton pickup truck. The sales will start in Thailand first, possibly in the second half of 2020.

2021 Pajero Sport Exterior Facelift
As we said, a new 2021 Mitsubishi Pajero Sport will look bolder than its predecessor. Moreover, the front fascia looks more imposing and eye-catching. Some reports were suggesting a fourth-gen Pajero in 2021 but that will not happen. Instead, Mitsubishi will deliver mid-cycle refreshments. With that in mind, the 2022 model should be the next-generation Pajero. Back to 2021, Pajero Sport will continue to ride on the same platform as before.
Thanks to that, a vehicle’s shape and dimensions are intact. The front fascia looks closer to the L200/Triton pickup and it features an iconic “Dynamic Shield” design. A similar styling cue can be found on the new Eclipse Cross. As its name suggests, Pajero Sport is a sportier variant of the regular Pajero SUV and it adds better aerodynamics. Finally, this model will offer a power tailgate with a hands-free system.

Technology Updates
The arriving mid-size SUV will continue to offer upscale interior design with a lot of tech. A new 8-inch touchscreen in the digital instrument cluster is available. Another 8-inch infotainment display is also offered as standard. The 2021 Mitsubishi Pajero Sport will get more upscale bits than its predecessor. The credit goes to soft-padded surfaces.
Moreover, this model will get AC power outlets for the rear passengers and also new USB ports. Armrests are new as well, and we can expect more tech. That mostly includes the latest safety aids and driver-assistance features. Pajero Sport remains a three-row SUV that offers a room for seven passengers. On top of that, you can choose between three and five-door variants.

Turbodiesel Engine is a Carryover
Unfortunately, nothing will change under the hood. It is not necessarily a bad thing but customers would love to see new powertrain options for sure. Still, that will not happen and a 2.4-liter turbodiesel remains for another year. This four-cylinder engine also powers the Triton/L200 pickup truck.
It can produce 178 horsepower and 317 lb-ft of torque. Moreover, an 8-speed automatic transmission comes as the only gearbox option. If you load an optional AWD system, Pajero Sport will also feature an off-road drive mode. Speaking of which, the mid-size SUV also offers modes such as Snow, Rock, Gravel and Sand.
2021 Mitsubishi Pajero Sport Price and Release Date
As we already mentioned, the fourth-generation Pajero will go on sale in 2022. The 2021 Mitsubishi Pajero Sport comes with mid-cycle refreshments, and its price will stay intact.
Thanks to that, a new mid-size SUV will cost $33,000. You can buy this model on basically all markets under the name “Montero” or “Shogun.” The all-new Pajero Sport will go on sale in the last quarter of 2020.
