After the return of the BRZ model, Subaru is working on further improvements. The upcoming 2021 Subaru BRZ tS is the most expensive trim level, sitting above the Limited models. Furthermore, this model is returning in the United States, at some point during 2020. Unfortunately, only 300 units will become available in the U.S.

This coupe looks and acts really hardcore, and a new model will build on that. That includes numerous exterior refinements, and the interior will introduce new color schemes. As for the performance, this coupe is very unique. It uses the same engine as the regular BRZ model, but it comes with manual transmission exclusively. Let’s see what Subaru changed for 2021.

Changes Under the Shell

The Japanese carmaker is trying to improve every part of the new 2021 Subaru BRZ tS. Interestingly, we will see numerous changes under the skin. The STI performance division will also work on this model, and it will mostly focus on better handling. The 2021 tS variant is mean in every possible way, even mechanically.

New Sachs dampers and coil springs have been tuned, just like the STI model. Furthermore, a V-brace is flexible and draw stiffeners will surely improve the steering response. The same stiffeners are improved both on the chassis and the sub-frame. The front part will deploy a four-piston Brembo brake calliper and the rear end two-piston callipers.

2021 BRZ tS Exterior Facelift

The all-new 2021 Subaru BRZ tS will host numerous cosmetic upgrades. For a start, this model will arrive in a Ceramic White exterior paint exclusively. Moreover, Cherry Blossom Red accents are visible around the front grille and the rear bumper. The same grille hosts a red badge with additional chrome accents. The same treatment can be seen on the rear deck too.

On the other hand, side mirrors and the antenna are painted in black, and fog lights are completely gone. Instead, black covers will occupy that spot. However, the most notable changes are the new wing and the brand-new wheels. The 2021 tS now comes with a smaller rear wing than ever before. As for the wheels, a matte bronze 18-inchers are looking incredible.

Interior Gets New Upholstery

On the inside, the approaching 2021 Subaru BRZ tS will introduce a perfect mix of black leather and red Alcantara accents. Of course, we are talking about the seats. However, the same treatment can be found on door panels, seat bolsters, knee pads and seatbelts. On top of that, Subaru upgraded steering wheel, gearshift, parking brake handle and sun visors.

Finally, the center console is finished in Cast Black color. The rest of the interior will largely remain and will look like that model from 2018. BRZ tS will keep the current interior layout, and this coupe isn’t as spacious as taller passengers would like.

Four-Cylinder Boxer Engine Specs

As we said, the sporty coupe will deploy the same 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine as the regular BRZ model. However, the 2021 Subaru BRZ tS comes with manual transmission exclusively. The iconic boxer engine is producing up to 205 horsepower, and it provides good acceleration.

Subaru is also offering a Torsen limited-slip rear differential, which should help this coupe to maintain traction. The 2021 BRZ tS will deploy a sporty manual gearbox with six speeds while the Limited trims can be equipped with both manual and automatic transmission.
