We already wrote about the upcoming Forester model. However, at the very beginning of the year, Subaru announced its hybrid version. The all-new 2021 Subaru Forester Hybrid was speculated recently, as we already reported. However, this variant is now official. Called the e-Boxer, a hybrid version will go on sale in Asia and Australia.
Of course, the ultimate goal is to reach American soil, and that is likely to happen in 2021. Visually, e-Boxer will look the same as the regular fifth-gen SUV. The only difference is the hybrid badges. The interior is also intact, and we can only hope for the latest technology upgrades. Finally, Subaru’s iconic full-time Symmetrical AWD system will be in the offer.

2021 Forester Hybrid Specs
The forthcoming 2021 Subaru Forester Hybrid won’t perform better than the regular gasoline version. The e-Boxer system consists of a regular 2.0-liter engine, an electric motor, and a battery pack. This output is rated at 147 hp and 145 lb-ft of torque. However, an electric motor will add around 16 horsepower and 50 lb-ft of twisting power. A lithium-ion battery pack is placed under the rear seats and will be recharged via the regenerative braking system.
Moreover, a CVT transmission comes as standard. The rest of the powertrain details includes Subaru’s legendary full-time Symmetrical All-Wheel-Drive setup. New Forester Hybrid can also run on pure electricity, but the driving range is still unknown.

Exterior Details
Visually, the approaching 2021 Subaru Forester Hybrid won’t depart from the regular model. The only difference is the „e-Boxer“ badges that have been placed on the vehicle. For 2021, Forester will get a couple of minor upgrades.
Whatsoever, the exterior is relatively fresh, thanks to the last year’s redesign. As for the Forester e-Boxer variant, Subaru offers LED headlights and 18-inch wheels as standard. The front fascia hosts a very attractive grille that looks both modern and upscale.
Interior Changes
As for the interior, the Japanese automaker will deliver a couple of high-tech updates. Besides that, the cabin should carry on unchanged. The 2012 Subaru Forester Hybrid will once again provide two rows of seats and a room for five passengers. The platform is unchanged, so the interior room is the same as on the current model. The e-Boxer hybrid variant will now offer standard Android Auto and Apple CarPlay phone integrations.
On top of that, this SUV will provide a Panasonic’s 8-inch display. Safety is also improved, and Forester comes with five airbags and upgraded the EyeSight safety suite. According to some reports, a hybrid version could get more luxury than regular Forester. The same rumors are suggesting new cloth upholstery that looks and feels more premium.

2021 Subaru Forester Hybrid Price and Release Date
The price of the brand-new 2021 Subaru Forester Hybrid will start at $28,500. The hybrid version is offered in two trim levels, L and S. The S model will cost $35,000.
With these price figures, Forester Hybrid will look to rival Toyota RAV4 and Toyota C-HR Hybrid. The e-Boxer variant is going on sale this March in Asia and Australia. However, the U.S. customers will have to wait for 2021.
