We already wrote about the 2021 Subaru Levorg V-Sport model. Now, after two months after its reveal, the 2021 Subaru Levorg STI Sport has been confirmed as well. The STI will represent a sportier version, similar to the WRX. However, STI won’t arrive in the U.S. according to our sources. Of course, that could change in the near future.
New Levorg STI will be available under the STI Sport nomenclature. Unlike the BRZ STI or WRX S4 STI models, Levorg STI won’t look similar to the traditional rally car. That means we can expect a sports wagon with more power and a sportier appearance. We are still waiting for a Japanese manufacturer to release more specific details.
2021 Levorg STI Exterior Upgrades
Regular Levorg V-Sport looks very modern and attractive. However, if that is not good enough for you, a new 2021 Subaru Levorg STI Sport could be the answer. Thanks to its STI resemblance, this wagon will look extremely sporty. Still, we can’t confirm the exact design details. So far, only a couple of leaked photos are available, but this isn’t enough to create a complete picture.
The Japanese manufacturer will provide unique tires, wheels, and other racy touches. You can expect astonishing aerodynamics, lower ride and much more. Subaru will also give a couple of changes beneath the skin. That includes new brakes, suspension, and Bilstein dampers.
Interior Provides More Standard Equipment
Like the regular Levorg model, the STI version will also get blacked-out windows. The 2021 Subaru Levorg STI Sport will also get more standard equipment inside the cabin. Subaru’s famous EyeSight safety suite is offered as standard. Moreover, the STI model comes with a larger display, a better camera that provides a broader viewing angle and more sensors.
As you can see, Subaru will provide excellent safety, and we’d also like to add the pre-collision braking system that will be available as standard. Besides that, the rest of the interior is very similar to the regular Levorg model.
New Turbocharged Engine
New 2021 Subaru Levorg STI Sport will arrive with a new engine. The regular Levorg version is using a 1.8-liter turbo-boxer unit. However, the STI model will come with a larger 2.0-liter. Moreover, this unit works perfectly with Subaru’s Global Platform that underpins the current Levorg. New displacement will produce 292 horsepower and 295 lb-ft of torque.
This drivetrain is proven, and it also powers the Legacy, Forester and WRX sedan in the U.S. The STI version will offer Subaru’s Symmetrical AWD system as standard. Moreover, a CVT transmission will be available as standard. Interestingly, this gearbox will electronically utilize the clutches. In that way, the STI model will be able to split the level of torque.
2021 Subaru Levorg STI Sport Price and Release Date
Standard Levorg model is scheduled for the second half of 2020 in Japan. That means we can expect new 2021 Subaru Levorg STI Sport at the beginning of 2021. The price will start at around $50,000 for this sporty wagon. To compare, the V-Sport version will be priced at $42,000 and the base model at $28,000.
