The all-new 2021 Nissan Versa will continue its journey. While Ford and other manufacturers are abandoning the sedan segment, Nissan keeps going. Whatsoever, Versa isn’t the only sedan in Nissan’s car lineup. Altima and Sentra are also available. Versa is a subcompact sedan that comes with roomy interior and versatility.
You will hardly find such a small car in the segment that feels spacious. Cargo capacity is ample, along with the legroom. This car is producing a solid amount of power, and it offers two gearbox options. You can also count on numerous tech and driver-assistance aids. We can expect new Versa later this year.
2021 Versa Exterior Redesign
Visually, the upcoming 2021 Nissan Versa will get a redesign. The new model will look stunning for its segment, no doubts about it. For a start, a small sedan will gain a sloping-hood design. The front fascia wears an iconic V-Motion grille and new sweptback headlamps. The body looks sharper than before, and it sports more creases. Thanks to that, aerodynamics are improved.
Moreover, the floating roof design is present and visible at first glance. Still, the entry-level Versa looks cheap, and it lacks more stylish cues. On the other hand, upper trim levels are looking more upright with new alloy wheels and the latest cosmetic upgrades.
As we said, the best part of the 2021 Nissan Versa is its interior room. Versa is one of the most spacious models in the subcompact segment. Moreover, the cabin is equally roomy in the back. Rear occupants can enjoy generous legroom, just like the front passengers. The cargo room is also ample, so you don’t need to worry about fitting things behind the rear seats. Crossovers are more practical vehicles, but Versa perfectly shows that you can still profit from the sedans. The interior sports plenty of plastic trims, so the cabin feels cheap.
On the other hand, upper trim levels with leather seats and two-tone interior scheme are looking more premium. For 2021, Versa will gain a new infotainment system, more driver-assistance features, and small changes on the dash. When it comes to safety systems, Versa offers plenty of them. That includes pedestrian detection, emergency braking, lane departure warning, and rear cross-traffic alert.
The Same Engine Powers Nissan Kicks Model
As before, the new 2021 Nissan Versa will share its platform with the Nissan Kicks model. Moreover, the wheelbase is identical. For the very same reason, the engine is also the same. It is a 1.6-liter four-cylinder that comes with an optional CVT automatic transmission. A 5-speed manual gearbox is still offered as standard. The engine is producing 122 horsepower and 115 lb-ft of torque.
2021 Nissan Versa Price and Release Date
Nissan didn’t announce the exact pricing details. However, a new model will cost slightly more, at around $18,500. The 2021 Nissan Versa will go on sale this Summer. Moreover, you can expect it later this Summer as a model for 2021. The main competitors are still Toyota Yaris, Chevy Sonic, and Hyundai Accent. Lastly, Versa will return to Canada.
