If the latest reports are correct, Toyota plans to introduce big changes to its SUV and pickup truck lineup. Whatsoever, the Japanese manufacturer will edit their best-known models. According to Motor1 and some other reliable reports, Toyota has big plans for the future. Most interesting stories are surely the new Land Cruiser and Tundra models.

However, the company will provide further modifications to other vehicles as well. That also includes a couple of Lexus models as well. However, not all of the details are available. Anyway, here’s what you can expect from Toyota in the foreseeable future.

Toyota Headquarters

Toyota Land Cruiser

The arriving Land Cruiser model will receive many upgrades. It does make sense as this SUV cries for changes. Many features are looking outdated and Toyota will focus on its off-road abilities. That also means the luxury inside the cabin should largely remain. There will be a room for five passengers once again. The launch date is not available yet but expects numerous mechanical updates and stronger performances.

Toyota Tundra

The next-gen Tundra will go on sale in December 2021 as a model for 2022. Before that, Tundra will gain small modifications only. However, we recently saw a new Nightshade Edition. Still, the new-generation will switch to a new TNGA-F platform and its aging V8 will be replaced for a twin-turbo V6.

Toyota Tacoma

If we speak about next-gen Tacoma, it won’t arrive before 2023. That means the arriving model will gain mid-cycle refreshments. You can also expect numerous editions and trim levels. However, nothing significant will happen to a famous mid-size pickup. The only important upgrade could be a new 8-speed automatic transmission.

2021 Toyota Tacoma

Toyota 4Runner & Toyota Sequoia

We have two aging SUVs here that are also crying for more serious changes. This should happen in 2022 and before that, don’t expect such major upgrades. Interestingly, both models were lastly redesigned in the previous decade (Sequoia in 2007 and 4Runner in 2009).

Toyota RAV4

We are already seeing some improvements in the current and the arriving 4Runner. That includes improved performances and a new RAV4 Prime version. We are talking about the improvements in the 2021 RAV4. However, it is the 2022 version that will be heavily upgraded.

Toyota 86

A new version of the 86 model will be developed in Toyota’s partnership with Subaru. This model will go on sale in July 2021 as a model for 2022. Moreover, it will get a Subaru’s four-cylinder Boxer engine with 255 horsepower.

Toyota Avalon & Camry

The upcoming Toyota Camry is the first model to get more drastic changes. The 2021 version will arrive and it will introduce the latest company’s upgrades. As for the Avalon, this sedan will gain more serious refreshments in 2022.

2020 Toyota Camry TRD

Toyota Venza

The Japanese manufacturer will revive its Venza model by the end of 2020. Further information is not available but read our predictions HERE.

What About Lexus Models?

For a start, Lexus GX will carryover with no significant upgrades for 2021. The reports are saying that its replacement could arrive in 2022. As for the LX version, this large off-roader will depart from its Land Cruiser twin, later this year.

The LC-F will ditch its current V8 for a new twin-turbo V8 with more power. Lastly, LS, GS, and ES will arrive with more significant upgrades later in 2021. On top of that, Lexus could ax its poor-selling GS.
