Since its arrival during the mid-90s, Odyssey is surely one of the best and the most popular minivans. Now, the 2021 Honda Odyssey is still among the best-in-class models and it will arrive with numerous refreshments. Honda delivers great driving dynamics, roomy interior and a long list of standard features. The current generation is present since 2017 so mid-cycle improvements are what we expect.
On top of that, the latest spy photos are proving that. Unfortunately, changes are far from significant. The exterior is mostly a carryover, while the interior could gain more standard equipment. In terms of performance, the 2021 Odyssey is also unchanged and rumors about hybrid versions are still present.
2021 Odyssey Spy Shots
The upcoming 2021 Honda Odyssey has been caught during the test drive. Spy shots are showing us the latest changes as the prototype was wearing little camouflage. Nothing significant will change. The upgrades are classic mid-cycle refreshments. The Japanese manufacturer will focus on design, more than on the exterior features.
However, the front end is revised and it includes new lighting elements and a new grille. Moreover, both front and rear bumpers will be redesigned. It seems like Odyssey could get new side mirrors as well. As for the design, this minivan will arrive with more pronounced lines and better aerodynamics.
As for the interior, we can’t say what type of upgrades will 2021 Honda Odyssey gets. The spy photos are not providing a better look at the interior, unfortunately. However, Odyssey is known as a very comfortable, modern and spacious minivan. The cabin hosts high-quality materials and the dashboard looks amazing. Moreover, Honda offers beautiful color schemes and much more.
For 2021, we can assume that Odyssey will get more standard features in its entry-level model. On top of that, even the upper trim levels could get more premium amenities. Odyssey minivan offers three rows of seats and a room for eight passengers. Its cargo area is rated at 158 cubic feet of space. Still, second and third-row occupants could have a problem with a lack of legroom.
Most likely, we won’t see changes under the hood. The forthcoming 2021 Honda Odyssey is getting mid-cycle refreshments. For that reason, the new engine could become available once the new-gen model arrives. Until then, a 3.5-liter V6 is offered as standard. This engine is producing 280 horsepower and 262 lb-ft of torque. A 10-speed automatic transmission is available as on the current model.
This engine delivers 19 mpg in the city and 28 mpg on the highway. Those figures are in line with competitors such as Chrysler Pacifica or Toyota Sienna. Rumors about the possible hybrid powertrain are still present. However, we didn’t see enough evidence to say anything more about it.
2021 Honda Odyssey Price and Release Date
The price of the all-new 2021 Honda Odyssey will start at around $30,000. A speculated hybrid version is still uncertain, but if it arrives, it won’t cost below $35,000. Odyssey minivan will arrive this fall with mid-cycle improvements. Moreover, this minivan will remain one of the most reliable choices in its segment.
